Auld Lang Syne - A Light in the Sky: The Last Song of Lemuria is inspired by the legend of Lemuria, a continent believed to have existed in the Pacific Ocean. The continent is believed to have sunk overnight between 12,000 and 50,000 years ago. Legend has it that many of Lemuria's people fled the sinking land, taking refuge in underground cities or transitioning into another dimension.

Some priests, however, chose to remain on the land, offering prayers and sacrifices for the safety of their people. These priests sang Auld Lang Syne , a final farewell song, embodying the hope of reunion and the sadness of separation. As the water began to cover their lips, their singing gradually turned to humming. Many of the fleeing Lemurians, stricken with grief, are said to have heard the humming, and the sound was engraved in their hearts as a reminder of their devotion.

Today, Auld Lang Syne (Hotaru no Hikari) is a familiar song in Japan for graduations and farewells, but its origins lie in Scottish folk music and are believed to date back even further to the Lemurian era. Through themes of remembrance and reunion, the song reflects the prayers and farewells of the Lemurian priests, connecting us across time to forgotten times.

This work pays tribute to the sacrifices of the Lemurian priests and captures their final prayers and hope for reunion, reflecting the strength of the human spirit and the bonds that transcend even the deepest loss.
